Of course! I can't believe I didn't think of that when reading the article. The doctors were scowling b/c in their minds their worst malpractice fantasies were playing out. Even if they were being persuaded or felt sympathetic, their minds were filled with fear. I've worked with mostly psychiatrists for over 30 years, and many of them were obsessed with the fear of being sued. (Maybe rightly so - but it often made treatment planning and coordination of care difficult.)
