I've just stopped using the word "gender." It's a linguistics term and there is no application to humans. There's always a more accurate word to use--hair, clothing, stereotypes, feelings, delusion, etc. That really clears up nearly 100% of the problem. Humans don't have a "gender identity" or "gender expression." Just say what you really mean.

As such, there's no such thing as "trans" or "transition" or "detransition." Since this is a linguistics battle, taking away the made-up terms solves nearly the whole problem.

It makes sense.

i agree with your sentiment. but gender critical ppl need to use common terms to oppose this hostile takeover of language. when people say there are more than two genders, one can reply there are only two genders or one can reply there are only two sexes. if its the latter reply with no added info, gender cultists will later claim your definitions meaning is that males are actually women and these males are included in the definition of "female sex". im not an expert on what all the possible ways to consider this question. but it seems that simply saying there are only two genders is one easy way to make an understandable reply.

there are different audiences when it comes to this issue. there are people who are more concerned with harms to child safe guarding, harms to womens safety and rights. there are others who go along with gender ideology because they have been duped that somehow its kind to a group of magic people. to reach anyone duped by gender biz dogma, its almost always necessary to meet them on thier own terf to explain how theyve got it wrong.

I always say there are two sexes--female and male. Your mother is female (eggs) and father is male (sperm). Simple.

If you admit "gender" applies to humans, why can't someone say there are 65 genders? Or 199 genders? People do say that. If gender applies and it's feelings or whatever, there can be 500 genders. How do you stop that? Look up the list of "genders" available on Facebook. It's idiotic.

And if you say there's two genders, what's the difference between sex and gender then? There is none. Just say two sexes.

Two sexes, zero genders, infinite personalities or personal styles or clothing options.

If someone is intelligent, I'll try to explain the concept of "gender" from linguistics (which doesn't exist in English since we don't have gendered articles) and explain what John Money did.

Just eliminate "gender." It's simple and it works. None of it is real.

i agree one can ID as anything they want. people can pretend to be a christmas tree. one can pretend to be the star on top of the tree. and certainly a man can ID as a women. im with you there. the line has to be clear that protects women's safety by preventing biological men from womens spaces. kids right to unmedicated pubrrty needs protection from cultists, quack drs and people who have been scammed by their dogma. ergo. a man can ID as a womem, but he should still use the mens restrooms and participate in mens sports. these terms arent academic. they are being used to harm marginalized groups whose rights are only protected via multiple underlines and repeated clarity

No, one cannot ID as anything. Because when you say "ID" invariably, especially with men, they will start making demands of others.

Can a schizophrenic "ID" as Napoleon and make others call him Napoleon? No, he'll be told no and be given treatment.

Can a 70 pound anorexic "ID" as obese and make doctors give her liposuction? No, she'll be told no and be given treatment.

So, no, men cannot "ID" as women. Because it will never end with that. They will want bathrooms, sports, prisons, pronouns, passports--men are like children and they will constantly push for more.

So the answer is no.

I really like this article spelling out the damage to pre-homosexual kids and those that might struggle to accept their homosexuality.

Thank you so much Lisa!! Your writings, thoughts and way with words helps me articulate the reality about Gender Ideology to people who don’t understand-- which is everyone around me. It is destroying my young adult daughter and taking the rest of us down with her. I truly appreciate what you do for us.

Lisa, thanks for this. Exactly what's needed. Not sure if you already reference this piece from The Free Press in your field guide but it makes a good case for why this argument isn't red vs blue, but right vs wrong. https://www.thefp.com/p/i-thought-i-was-saving-trans-kids?utm_source=substack&utm_medium=email
