Let's see what kind of a demand there is for this kind of intervention before throwing any parties. My guess is once the bloom is off the rose and it no longer gains any political capital for the right wing crazies in Texas that it will be allowed to wither and die pretty quickly.
I find it is significant that it is at Texas Children's Hospital, which got into legal trouble for miscoding diagnoses and dodging the moratorium on medically transitioning minors. Hopefully it is helping clinicians to better consider "the big picture" of what they're doing to children, however rare they consider de-transitioning to be.
I agree. While it's good to finally have one clinic that specializes is this necessary care for people who have suffered unnecessary harm, I don't think it represents a change of heart by anyone, which is what we need to stop the unnecessary harm in the first place!
BTW - I only just noticed that your logo says "Destigmatize the Truth" over BROADview. I like it! T-shirts anyone??
I'm not sure what Trump's motivations, visible to no one, have to do with judgments about the opening of this clinic -- that seems an irrelevancy. Of course it would have greater value in one of the ideologically captured blue states, but since that ain't gonna happen, I'm glad Texas, a large state, is pioneering it. One can only hope it is staffed by a great medical team that may be able to pool ideas and build some clinical basis for future detransition guidance in other states.

I'm a fan of Lisa Selin-Davis so don't hold it against her, especially given that she lives in deep blue shark-infested waters. That's a tough situation to slog through day after day.
