It was hard to "like" this story because the events portrayed are absolutely horrific and that we as a society are permitting this to happen to these most vulnerable of women is something we should be profoundly ashamed of. Thank you for helping try to being it to light.

In other news, Dems didn't lose the 2024 election because of a surge in Republican't votes: Trumps numbers only went up by about a million votes from 2020.

But Dem votes, in those same four years, went down by 7 million. Seven million is kind of a lot.

Mostly from alienating moderate Dems and pragmatic--as opposed to performative--progressive Dems regarding Kamala et al.'s support for men in women's spaces and other unscrutinized issues.

Elizabeth Moorchild's avatar

Powerful statistic. Thanks for sharing it. Many of us sober-minded ex-Dems, felt forced not to vote--especially women.

Frank Hyman's avatar

And so many commentators/journalists talk about how "close" the 2024 election was! The Dems won 2020 in a landslide, had a huge advantage and then threw it away in 2024 with crazy talk! :-(

Normies need to read such articles in MSM, and it is a travesty that the information is suppressed. Normies either assume it's not happening because it is so obviously batshit crazy, or that there is careful gatekeeping. The truth is so insane that they assume it must be "fake news" by conspiracy theorists. The silence of MSM is effectively a giant coverup.

Lisa Simeone's avatar

Exactly. I can't count the number of times I've been told that these stories are fake, that these things aren't happening, that it's impossible -- one friend even said that a story I'd sent her must've been propaganda written by Russian bots! See her exact words:

Why Smart People Still Act Stupid When It Comes to "Trans"

P.I. Miller's avatar

Agreed. A common response is that if this were happening, major outlets such as CNN, NY Times, PBS would be covering it. That assumption can lead people to dismiss reports or concerns about cases such as convicted male rapists being placed in women’s prisons.

Once a reader or voter concludes that many legacy media outlets are ignoring, dismissing, or condemning such stories, it becomes difficult to unsee, and trust in those sources can erode.

What is often framed as a minor issue for voters can then open the door to broader cynicism and apathy, including toward calls to protect freedom of speech, raising the question of who is genuinely advocating for open expression versus reinforcing approved narratives.

The prison stuff is as brutal as the trans-ing kids stuff in this horrific space. The MSM's behavior on it is despicable.

Gary Weglarz's avatar

My gag reflex has now been absolutely completely exhausted by the behavior of these virtue-signaling little Stasi functionaries who inhabit the world of MSM these days. Where is NPR or PBS? Where is the NYT's? Where is Democracy Now? The more "progressive" the media outlet - the apparently more detached it is from the material reality of the harms being done to women and children in the name of a completely barking-mad "ideology." The utter moral cowardice of those who inhabit the MSM landscape in America is both quite breathtaking - as well as gag inducing. : /

Lisa Simeone's avatar

Cowardice is indeed the word. Don't hold your breath waiting for any of these complicit media outlets to report responsibly on this topic.

BTW the international law code that applies here is the Mandela Rules, or more formally U.N. Standard Minimum Rules for the Treatment of Prisoners (https://www.unodc.org/documents/justice-and-prison-reform/Nelson_Mandela_Rules-E-ebook.pdf). See Rule 11. on page 7 of the .pdf.

The Geneva conventions are rules of war. They regulate the wartime treatment of POW's, but have nothing to do with a nation's own domestic prisons/jails or with anything that happens in peacetime.

It’s not a story in Minnesota for the same reason Somali fraud is not a story in Minnesota - MSM overlords support both, particularly the Star Tribune.

Lisa Simeone's avatar

You realize there are a lot of born-and-bred Americans, not Somalis, who were in on that fraud, right? Or are you concerned only about the Somalis?

The reason you even know about that story is because it has gotten a lot of press, UNLIKE the "trans" insanity.

Frank Hyman's avatar

There really has been something wrong at the J schools for a long while. They are in the Humanities school, so the important thing is to come up with a narrative that feels good. And there seems to be little desire to subject these "narratives" to the kind of scrutiny that a competent education in science and math would provide. So if you come at their narrative issue with any kind of scientific or numerical analysis, you are immediately suspect.

Elizabeth Moorchild's avatar

The humanities once were intensely rigorous, with logic, history, and linguistics as essential components of a good humanist education. The loss of that rigor is a complicated story. Science and math are not a panacea for what ails this society.

At best ,the media are cowards , at worst woman hating monsters. They are despicable and women will not forget which media outlets were on their side and which were not. Women who support this predators' rights movement should be paraded through the streets in a walk of shame ,like they did to the collaborators in France after ww2 ended !! Thanks ,Lisa

Heads up. to All the Independents and normie Democrats who either did not vote last time or voted for Trump (or not Harris), be sure to check how each democratic candidate in the primaries stands. If they support any of this madness, you need to vote for (yes, that's right) a Republican who IS against this. By not voting you may still be voting for these crazy lefties. Protect women and children at all costs!

to me

That’s an incredibly biased opinion not a news story.

A dangerous hit piece on gender identity.

Lisa Simeone's avatar

Not sure I understand, Mark.

Is this person, Peter Breza, your brother? Or cousin?

And he's saying that he doesn't believe that opposite-sex imposters -- in other words, men -- are being housed with women in women's prisons?

Not that it will matter, I guess, but you can tell him that we have hundreds of stories like this.

Mark M Breza's avatar

He lives in the Philippines.

They have a looser understanding of gender fluidity there . Although it is interesting that all the macho ‘Top Gun Tommy’(Scientology no drugs ),

Air Force hero’s go sex crazy in the bars of Angeles City even with the pretty boys .

Mark M Breza's avatar

Yes you exagerate too much.

He thinks you are in it for the money .

Plus why do you think modern chemicals are bad ?

Would you put a man's heart in your body if you needed a transplant .

Which the operation is now a simple medical procedure.

Why do you fear the future ?

Lisa Simeone's avatar

I'm "in it for the money"??

What money??
