I can't understand why PBS is reporting on Boston Children's Hospital as some kind of a model institution when they have a long, well-known history of abusing vulnerable children.
I only hope Boston's Children's Hospital will be held accountable for their actions against children. They have a decades long history of abusing children going back to Dr. Donald Allen who was part of a pedophile ring uncovered in the 1970s in Revere Massachusetts, which included many men like Dr. Donald Allen and Arthur Clarridge working at elite institutions like Harvard, Fessenden Private Boys School, Boston Children's Hospital, etc. This is where GLAAD originated as they organized to defend and protect those upper class pedophiles who were part of the group of men sexually exploiting children. As usual, they tried to brush it under the rug with accusations of it being a Witch Hunt (a la Trump) and "moral panic." One of the pedophiles, Richard Peluso, eventually died in prison, but most of the men served no time. As trans do today, GLAD tried to smear, discredit and get fired anyone who tried exposing the scandal. One such woman they tried to shut up was Ann Burgess, a professor and women's and child advocate. Ironically, now in her eighties, she eventually became an FBI profiler and a movie was made about her. She was a friend of a late friend of mine, also an incorrigible women's rights advocate. Other pedophiles at Boston Children's Hospital have been Dr. Melvin Levine and Rabbi Stanley Levitt. Who knows how many more as they've all been protected by their colleagues.
Boston Children's Hospital was also in the news for the cruel treatment given to Justina Pelletier and her family. She was 14 when she was placed in state custody in Massachusetts in 2013 at the behest of Children's Hospital. She was confined to a psychiatric ward for a year because Children's Hospital misdiagnosed her with psychological problems and implied her parents were to blame. Actually, Justina had severe mitochondrial disease, which the lack of proper treatment by Children's Hospital exacerbated. Her parents sued, but Children's Hospital got away with their malpractice. Many, many times they've gotten away with incredible abuse, but have always had the power to escape retribution. Why??
